Adolescent Mediation & Family Therapy (FACES)

FACES is a counselling service for young people (aged between 10-21 years) and their parents or caregivers. The aim of the program is to help improve the communication between parents and their children. The counsellors’ work towards helping families develop skills to resolve these difficulties.
Payment is on a sliding scale according to income.

Rural Counselling

This program provides counselling to individuals, couples or families in some rural areas. The parameters for eligibility are broad, and include relationship issues, coping with change & loss, depression, anxiety, anger management etc.
This is a free service.

Family Relationship Counselling

This program offers individuals, couples and families an opportunity to explore and develop solutions to managing relationship issues and difficulties. This may include coping with loss and change, conflict resolution, step-parenting, parenting after separation etc.
Payment is on a sliding scale according to income.

Family Counselling & Mediation Service
(For carers & families supporting a  person with a disability)

This program aims to provide families of a person with a disability, counselling and mediation for any issues which arise from future planning. This may include concerns about the capacity to maintain a caring role, anxieties around what planning for the future entails, defining roles of family members, ensuring decisions made are in the best interests of the whole family and so on.
This service is free of charge.

CatholicCare ACCESS Program

Medicare Access is a bulk billing counselling service, offering Psychological Services to people in the community to improve their mental health and wellbeing. The service offers assistance to people experiencing symptoms of mental ill-health such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, alcohol and/or other drug abuse, and can be accessed via a referral from your GP.
Through the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative the program offers bulk billing services to people on low incomes wishing to access counselling from CatholicCare Psychologists and Social Workers.
Medicare ACCESS operates out of 3 locations: Watson, Manuka and Queanbeyan.
To make a referral please see your GP and request a Mental Health Care Plan referring you to Centacare Medicare ACCESS for psychological counselling, or call the number below for more information on how to book an appointment.

Student & Family Counselling

This programme offers counselling and support for students (and their families) attending Catholic schools in the Canberra-Goulburn Archdiocese. The focus is to assist a student with any issues relating to their emotional, social or educational wellbeing.

Youth and Wellbeing Program

The Youth and Wellbeing Program is funded through ACT Health. The purpose is to support young people in the community between 12 to 25 years of age who have a mental health condition and/or drug and alcohol, anger and behavioural concerns and related issues. The staff at Youth and Wellbeing aim to encourage resilience and independence through a process of support, education and advocacy. Referrals can be made over the phone on the numbers listed below.
